This association was created in 1928 by the reserve officers of the cipher sections among which were the glorious actors of the great successes of French cryptology during the Great War. Over the years, it has gradually opened up to new populations and other specialties. The evolution of telecommunications and encryption techniques combined with the development of computing brought into the great family of Cipher all those exercising a technical, scientific or administrative function aimed at protecting sensitive information. Today, the ARCSI brings together multidisciplinary skills likely to be mobilized in the service of the country in order to ensure its smooth running, its security and its sovereignty.
ARCSI is honored to count or having counted among its members illustrious figures in cryptology such as David Kahn, Jean-Jacques Quisquater , Michel Ugon, Louis Guillou, Nicolas Courtois, David Naccache… .
